Our founders, Ana and Pia, believe that clean beauty can and should be accessible for everyone. For Keeps was created to fulfill the need for clean beauty, not as a luxury, but as a basic necessity.
A common misconception is that clean beauty is expensive. And it’s true that producing non-toxic products can potentially cost more, or take more time to produce. We know, the normalization of clean beauty doesn’t happen overnight. But with economies of scale — or in other words, with enough customers — clean beauty can become a more accessible and ordinary option.
Minimizing harm to human health — fewer skin irritations, hormonal disruptions, and long-term organ damage. Reducing harm to the environment — fewer sachets in our rivers and seas, recycling and upcycling materials. When did these things become niche and exclusive?

Clean, Natural, and Organic: What’s the Difference?
It’s easy to get confused by terms like “clean,” “natural,” and “organic,” but they each have specific meanings in the beauty industry.
- Clean skincare refers to products made without harmful ingredients. For Keeps ensures that every product is free from toxins and dermatologically proven safe for sensitive skin.
- Organic products involve ingredients that are grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
- All-natural products use ingredients derived from nature, like many oils. While clean beauty often highlights natural ingredients, it’s essential to remember that "natural" doesn’t automatically mean better. All-natural products should still be formulated with care, because many natural ingredients can be harsh when used in high concentrations.
- Bonus: Synthesized ingredients. Some ingredients are man-made and lab-produced. This doesn’t mean they’re “unnatural” — they may still be derived from natural sources, simply elevating natural raw materials. Examples of lab-synthesized ingredients include Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, a coconut-based surfactant; hyaluronic acid, which mimics a natural substance in our skin; and peptides, which boost collagen production. At For Keeps, we are open to using safe, non-toxic, lab-synthesized ingredients.
